: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham who symbolically called off his fast by taking lemon juice in the presence of 13 of his close associates at his native village Kirlampudi on Wednesday, made it clear that he would not rest until all the demands of his community were met.
Henceforth, he would guide the Kapu Joint Action Committee which would take forward the campaign.
On the course of action, Mr. Padmanbham said he would first have to recoup his health. He would hold a meeting with the JAC in the first week of July.

The Kapu leader declared that his family would not celebrate any festival until the personnel who behaved rudely towards his daughter-in-law, his two sons and his wife after they declared their intention to go on fast to express solidarity with the 13 who were arrested by the police in the Tuni arson case.
“I was treated like a terrorist”
“Police used abusive language against my daughter-in-law, wife and two sons while arresting them on June 9. They have humiliated the family which is known for its hospitality. We have hosted many officials, including IPS and IAS. But, what we got in return?” the Kapu leader asked.

He alleged that he was treated like a terrorist at the Rajamahendravaram General Hospital.
He was denied even basic facilities such as TV, cellphone and newspapers.
