Manda Krishna faults TDP, YSRC on capital issue

September 09, 2014 08:18 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:15 pm IST - ONGOLE:

Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti founder president Manda Krishna Madiga on Monday criticised that both Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and leader of Opposition Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy had let down people of Rayalaseema on location of capital for Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference here, he said “there is a deep resentment at the grassroots-level in Rayalaseema over the way the location of the capital has been decided by the State government.”

Though Mr.Naidu and Mr Jaganmohan Reddy belonged to Rayalaseema they had failed to gauge the feelings of common people in the region who had every right in demanding implementation of the Sribagh pact after demerger of Telangana, he asserted.

He felt that “dispersed development promised by Mr Naidu may not be possible as development is likely to be mostly concentrated in and around Vijayawada like in Hyderabad in the past.” A separatist movement would gain momentum sooner or later, he feared.

Donakonda in Prakasam district suggested by the Sivaramakrishnan committee could have been a better option in view of its proximity to Rayalaseema, he added.
