MP, MLAs take part in Olympic Run

Rajya Sabha member T.G. Venkatesh, Kurnool MLA S.V. Mohan Reddy, Panyam MLA Gouru Charitha Reddy and Nandikotkur MLA S. Aijaiah and former Minister K.E. Prabhakar carried Olympic torches and participated in an Olympic Run from Rajavihar Centre to the outdoor stadium in Kurnool on Saturday.

Sportspersons converged on the venue from five different places in Kurnool city. The run was aimed at promoting a sportsman spirit among youth and ensure that sportspersons from Kurnool district take part in the Olympics, Mr. Venkatesh said. Sportspersons have wider recognition than politicians, Mr. Mohan Reddy remarked.

District Olympic Association president Vijaya Kumar and secretary Ramanjaneyulu participated.
