Former Congress MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy would launch a political party “as soon as possible” after holding consultations with his supporters all over Andhra Pradesh.

“I cannot give an exact date. But I can tell you that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy would launch a political party as soon as possible. He will make the announcement after holding consultations with his supporters all over the State,” Ambati Rambabu, a close confidante of Mr. Jagan told reporters here.

Mr. Jagan would like to finalise the proposed policies and programmes of the party before making an announcement, he said.

Replying to a query, Mr. Rambabu said Mr. Jagan has already announced that he does not intend to destabilise the Congress government in Andhra Pradesh and that he would stick to it.

The Jagan camp is not concerned about the dissatisfaction of some ministers over allocation of portfolios, he said.

Several Congress MLAs, including D Chandrasekhara Reddy, M Chandrasekhara reddy, P Subhash Chandra Bose, TDP rebel MLA N Prasannakumar Reddy, and few MLCs met Mr. Jagan in Hyderabad today.
