Representatives of seven uniformed services in Telangana region, who formed a Joint Action Committee in support of the separate Telangana State agitation, here on Sunday have decided agitate peacefully till the State was bifurcated.
The newly formed Telangana Uniform Services JAC comprises representatives of personnel from Police, Jails, Forest, Prohibition and Excise, Transport and Weights and Measures departments. The JAC has elected a 12-member state-level steering committee and has also decided to form district-wise JAC steering committees, the JAC convenor K. Venkateshwar Reddy said in a press release here.
The steering committee has also decided that the personnel of all the seven departments would contribute a day’s salary every month to extend financial succour to the people who lost their lives during the pro-separate state agitation. The monthly contributions will continue till Telangana State was formed.

Mr. Reddy said the JAC would agitate peacefully within the purview of the service conduct rules and would take up awareness programmes. Initially, it was being planned to organise blood donation camps all over Telangana to highlight the need for bifurcating the state, he said.
