J.B. Patnaik's connect with Tirupati

Former Chief Minister of Odisha J.B. Patnaik, who passed away following a massive heart attack in the early hours of Tuesday, was in the city to attend the convocation of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP). He was the Chancellor of the deemed Sanskrit university for the past seven years and was instrumental in the growth of the institution. He arrived by a special flight to take part in the event and also visit the temple on Monday.

According to the sources, J.B. Patnaik complained of severe chest pain at around midnight and was subsequently shifted to Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS). He passed away while undergoing treatment in the hospital. The last rites would be performed at Puri in Odisha.
