Incessant rain in the State caused by a low pressure area that moved on to land and lay over Telangana now, has claimed five lives so far.
The intensity of the rain is expected to subside on Wednesday.
Two women were washed away in the swollen Kakileru stream in Kurnool district. A man and his sister died due to electrocution when they came in contact with a live wire that fell on a house from a transmission pole in Visakhapatnam district. The body of a girl was found floating in a canal at Satrampad at Eluru in West Godavari district.

Water level in several tanks and streams rose in West Godavari, Warangal, East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Nizamabad, Krishna, Guntur, Kurnool, Prakasam and Chittoor districts causing disruption of road and rail traffic at several places.
Relief to farmers
The rain, which was evenly distributed in the three regions of the State, came as a relief to farmers who were getting worried over the prolonged dry spell.

A vehicle in which TRS MLA T. Rajaiah was travelling was caught in the flood waters of Lotu Vagu between Raghunathapalli and Komma in Warangal district before a police team rescued him.
An official report said all the mandals in the district reported an average rainfall of 4.1 cm rainfall on Monday. Lotu Vagu overflowed the national highway, disrupting vehicular traffic between Warangal and Hyderabad for sometime.
A large number of houses were inundated at Amudalapalli in West Godavari. In Visakhapatnam city, landslips blocked the ghat road on Kailashgiri.
Water enters houses
Many low-lying areas in Hyderabad also faced inundation problem. Waters from a nearby nallah entered houses at Hafeezpet.
The downpour in Nizamabad forced authorities to release water into the main canal of Nizamsagar project. Gouraram tank breached. Flash floods pushed up the water level in Budameru diversion canal at Velagaleru regulator in Krishna district, threatening neighbouring villages.
Monsoon vigorous
With monsoon turning vigorous, Narsapur in West Godavari recorded 14 cm of rain, Tadepalligudem, Mednoor each 11 cm; Rajahmundry, Atchampet, Addanki and Yellamanchili 10 cm each, Palair Bridge, Chodavaram, Piduguralla and Darsi each 9 cm.
However, there was no improvement in the inflows reaching major projects of Srisailam, Nagarjunasagar and Sriramsagar.
