In the light of alleged irregularities in the P.G Medical Entrance Test, fool-proof arrangements are under way for conduct of the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET)-2014 slated for May 22, according to the EAMCET convener N.V. Ramana Rao.
Addressing a meeting of chief superintendents and observers here on Thursday, Mr. Ramana Rao said hi-tech devices such as digital wrist watches and mobile phones, suspected to be the medium for leakage of question papers, were strictly prohibited. Candidates have to deposit their devices outside while entering the exam hall. In addition, jammers will also be installed at the examination centres, he added.
A. Yesubabu, Regional Coordinator and principal of Sir C.R. Reddy Engineering College, said 11,200 students for engineering and a little over 3,000 students for medical and agriculture streams were expected to take EAMCET at Eluru and Bhimavaram regional centres.

“As admissions to medical stream became highly competitive with 20 students vying for one seat, we need to be extra-vigilant to ensure that the examination is conducted in a fair manner”, Mr. Yesubabu told the media.
The test for engineering stream will be held at 11 centres in Eluru and eight centres in Bhimavaram and agriculture and medical test at four centres in Eluru and two in Bhimavaram.
