Discharge duties with dedication, anganwadi workers told

Lauding the efforts of anganwadi workers for taking proper care of the pregnant and the neo-natal women by providing nutritious food and timely health advice, scholar Chaganti Koteswara Rao on Tuesday advised the workers not to give up their dedication in discharging their daily duties. “You are playing an important role in building a healthy society. Children who born healthy will become an asset to the nation over a period of time and the anganwadi workers are contributing their mite to make the nation healthier,” he said while addressing a personality development session arranged for the anganwadi workers by the Women and Child Welfare Department here.

Collector H. Arun Kumar said that nutritious food was being distributed to over 2.5 lakh pregnant and children in the district through 5,546 anganwadi centres spread across the district. He said that over 1,000 anganwadi buildings would be built in different parts of the district this year .
