Constable's death: pall of gloom in Punganur

The news about the tragic end of her husband, Ramesh, in a terrorist shootout in Hyderabad has come as a terrible shock to Santhamma, his wife who also works as a constable at the Punganur police station in Chittoor district.

The couple with a nine-year-old daughter was planning for a vacation to Horsley Hills from May 17. Ramesh was to reach Punganur either on Saturday or Sunday to go on vacation. It was a heart-rending scene, as the wife of the constable with their baby in her arms, sobbed inconsolably while the TV channels showed visuals of the blood-soaked body of Ramesh.
