The first look and a motion poster to be released today, which happens to be Chiranjeevi’s birthday

The long-awaited 150th film of actor Chiranjeevi, directed by V.V. Vinayak, will hit the screens around Sankranti with the title Khaidi No. 150 .

The name was made official on Sunday, together with the announcement that the first look and the release of what is known as a motion poster, was scheduled for Monday.

August 22 happens to be the actor’s birthday and considering that the film is produced by his son Ramcharan under Konidela Production Company banner, the excitement levels are sure high. How will the first look be launched? Will Chiranjeevi himself be present? Where will it happen and at what time? These are questions doing the rounds.

All right, why the name

Khaidi , when it’s about a person fighting for farmers’ rights, according to the storyline. Two films of actor Chiranjeevi with the word
Khaidi in the title have been hits.

In 1983, Khaidi directed by Kodandarami Reddy, was Chiranjeevi’s first hit and the turning point in his career. And in 1988, Khaidi No. 786 with Bhanupriya as the heroine and Vijaya Bapineedu wielding the phone, was a hit too.

Disappointingly for the fans though, Chiranjeevi himself is out of station and the makers will be using social media for releasing the first look and the motion poster with Mr. Ramcharan doing the honours. There is talk though, that fans associations would organise their own functions to register their presence.

Although the film is supposed to be a remake of the runaway success Kathi in Tamil starring Vijay, the makers have made enough changes to suit Telugu nativity.

It goes without saying though that it has to be in tune with Chiranjeevi’s charisma and characteristic style - be it dances or fights.

About 50 per cent of the movie has already been canned and the makers have been very careful not to let the team bring in any gadgets like mobile phones, tabs or any other devices that can be used to record any of the shooting scenes. The director of photography, Ratnavelu, is said to be very strict in this.

Actor in fresh look

Director Mr. Vinayak is leaving nothing to chance in presenting Chiranjeevi in what is being described as a fresh look, without losing out his original style.

Needless to say, music director Devisri Prasad, who rocked audiences with his music for Shankardada series, has taken enough care to compose the best of notes for this film too.
