Chandrababu Naidu launches Smart Pulse survey at his residence

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the State government’s prestigious 'Smart Pulse' socio-economic survey at his residence in Undavalli, Guntur district on Friday.

The enumerators collected particulars from the Chief Minister and his family members. They also captured the iris of Mr. Naidu, and his son and TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh.

"This survey is based on latest IT tools and would be the most comprehensive survey ever. Just by a touch of button, we can get all details of the socio economic status of families and we will ensure that all cash benefits to genuine beneficiaries would be directly credited to their bank accounts," Mr. Naidu said.

Guntur Collector Kantilal Dande, Krishna Collector A. Babu, CM's Joint Secretary P.S. Pradyumna, Government IT Advisor J. Satyanarayana, and Infomration Commissioner Venkateswarlu were present. Mr. Dande personally tagged the residence of the CM and later used an Iris scanner to store the retinal images of Mr. Naidu.

As many as 30,000 enumerators will conduct the survey across the State. Unlike conventional method of filling up data sheets, the enumerators will use tablets provided by the government. Data collected from each household would be uploaded online in real-time.

The government intends to collect details including caste, religion, region, socio-economic status of 1.48 crore households in the State. The government would issue a zipper code to each house enumerated. The information will be updated from time to time even after the actual survey is completed. The database thereof will be created through geo-tagging and updated from time to time. The citizens can provide their details through online as well.

Through this survey, the government plans to integrate the data available with all government departments and agencies. It would help the government in effective implementation of welfare schemes and reach out the real beneficiaries.

Senior IAS officers, who previously served as Collectors, have been appointed as nodal officers for the 13 districts to oversee the survey.
