Raising a suspicion that the medical records submitted by suspended IAS officer Y. Srilakshmi seeking bail are made up, the CBI has requested the court on Thursday to refer them to a medical board for vetting.
In her bail application to the special court for CBI cases on Monday, Srilakshmi appended papers of treatment at the NIMS for disc dislocation which caused compression of nerves and severe pain. She was shifted to NIMS from jail on August 25.
Opposing bail to her, the counsel for CBI Balla Ravindranath argued that she never complained of disc problem when she was lodged in jail in January or when she moved the High Court in July-August. There was no question of bail on medical grounds because she was free to opt for surgery at a private hospital in judicial custody if the same was not performed at NIMS.

The fact that she preferred to explore an alternative therapy on release showed there was no urgency in the matter. In effect, it meant no urgency in treatment. In that case, there was no urgency in bail as well because investigation into assets acquired by her as Secretary of Mines and Geology was still pending.
Defence counsel V. Surender Rao said Srilakshmi wanted to go for robotic surgery which minimised trauma but it was not performed in NIMS.
