With the State government deciding to hold the Independence Day celebrations here, officials have decided to conduct it in a befitting manner. They are leaving no stone unturned to make it a grand success.

District Collector Kona Sasidhar has been visiting the Police Training College (PTC) stadium here, the venue for the occasion, regularly. The venue is being prepared in such a manner that it facilitates free movement of tableaux and vehicles of VIPs and guard of honour by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Barricading work is being taken up on a permanent basis so that the stadium can be used for future programmes.
