AP police log into e-learning tools

Courses designed on major Acts, CM to launch the programme in Guntur today

The Andhra Pradesh police has adopted e-learning tools for continuous assessment of the skill set of the personnel. Police officers would now have to complete a set of online courses and would be assessed based on their performance in an online assessment test.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would launch the programme in Guntur on Monday.

The innovative learning method is different from the conventional learning methods where it is possible for the learner to log into the training module at a location and complete the course at their own pace. The first training courses have been designed on the Prevention of Atrocities (SC &ST) Act, 1989 and the audio-visual module would feature senior and retired police officers. Training courses on other Acts like Juvenile Justice Act have been included.

Talks by experts

Batches of policemen would log into the training courses at select locations in the State. Apart from reading material, the training courses have videos, animations and short talks by senior police officers. At the end of the training programme, a candidate would be assessed online and a course certificate would be generated online.

“The innovative e-learning training programme is the brain child of Director General of Police N. Sambasiva Rao who has been driving the police force to adopt innovative digital technologies. The training programmes are the first of its kind in the country. The online training programmes would help the police personnel face the challenges in their career and also update their knowledge of various Acts throughout their career,’’ Inspector General of Police, CID, P.V Sunil Kumar told

The training programmes would be offered at eight locations in the State and would be later extended to other areas.

The programmes have been designed by Innoel Technologies and Solutions. “These online training programmes are designed on an audio-visual platform to provide a unique learning experience for the police,’’ said CEO, Innoel Technologies and Solutions Kishen Chander.
