Attacks on film shootings continued here for the second day today with a film unit of Allu Aravind, brother-in-law of Praja Rajyam Party chief Chiranjeevi, coming under attack by ABVP activists.
Activists of the student-wing affiliated to the BJP obstructed shooting of a Telugu movie produced by Aravind, on the outskirts of the city on Thursday.
The film unit was planning to take up shooting of the movie at a location behind the Ramoji film city and set up its equipments, when some members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) suddenly went to the area and stopped the unit from taking the shooting, a senior police officer said.

“About eight activists of the ABVP went to the area where a tent was erected to undertake the shooting of the film and threatened the crew members to stop its shooting and to immediately pack up,” L B Nagar DCP A. Satyanarayana said, adding the activists ran away after seeing the police.
Mr. Aravind was, however, not present at the location when the incident happened, he said.
The ABVP activists also allegedly threatened the crew members. “You better take up the film shooting in Andhra region and not in Telangana,” they allegedly said, according to another police official. Hayathnagar police are investigating the matter.

The incident comes a day after TRS activists disrupted shooting of a Telugu movie, starring Manoj, son of Telugu actor M. Mohan Babu. Incidentally, Mr. Mohan Babu has expressed his support for a united Andhra Pradesh, even announcing he would file a case against the TRS Chief.
The activists also attacked the film unit and damaged equipments of the film produced by Mohan Babu's daughter Lakshmi Prasanna.
Pro-Telangana agitators have attacked cinema halls, burnt effigies of Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi and stalled the screening of films of his son and kin at many places in the last week in the Telangana region, after he had extended his support for a united Andhra Pradesh.
