: Hamsaladeevi in Diviseema Island, one of the confluence points of the River Krishna, is set to attract lakhs of devotees during the upcoming Krishna Pushkaram. Beautification of the beach, including a pylon of dolphins, is fast nearing completion.
The police authorities are chalking out plans to manage the rush of devotees during the two-week river festival. Hamsaladeevi will arguably witness a huge turnout of devotees after major ghats, including key ones in Vijayawada city. The devotees would directly be allowed to take a dip at the confluence point of the Krishna and the Bay of Bengal as there is no possibility of constructing a ghat like in other places along the riverbed in Krishna district.
Nestled in the dense mangrove forest, the confluence point is home to black-headed seagull, which could be sighted in good numbers. Flocks of seagulls assembling on the beach in the evenings here makes a compelling sight. “Visitors come to the Hamslaladeevi for various purposes. It is a place where one can take a holy dip and enjoy the weather during the Puskharams. The beauty of the mangrove forest leading up to the confluence point will ensure the visitors a memorable experience,” said S. Krishna Prasad, a local scribe.

A keen contest of swimming by a group of Humpback dolphins in the deep sea here is a round-the-year attraction to watch and document. The visitors could reach the beach from Avanigadda, which is a two-hour drive from Vijayawada.
