Three suspected liquor smugglers were crushed to death under a train during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday near Bhoraj village, in Jainad mandal of Adilabad district.
The three, who were bringing head loads of country liquor from across the border in Maharashtra, had apparently slept on the track when a passing train brought death.
According to the Railway police at Adilabad, the deceased — Dandla Barmaiah, Makkala Timmayya and Soora Narayana — were smuggling liquor on foot along the railway track between Pippalkuti village in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra and Adilabad in the dead of the night. They must have relaxed on the track and fallen asleep, when a passing train ran over them.

The three smugglers, all Wadderas, belong to Khursheednagar and Ghadialghar slums of Adilabad town. They were bringing in liquor worth about Rs. 10,000, which was found at the spot of the accident.
The accident took place about 6 km away from Adilabad town.
