23 discharged from hospital

YSRC alleges they were sent home citing Jagan’s visit

Tribal people of Chaparai village, who were admitted to Area Hospital here on June 25, were discharged on Friday and the ITDA arranged ambulances to drop them in their village.

According to the ITDA project officer, A.S. Dinesh Kumar, of the 59 in patients, 23 were discharged on Friday as doctors declared that they were completely disease-free.

However, local MLA Vantala Rajeswari of the YSR Congress alleged that the ITDA officials had discharged the patients on the pretext of Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Area hospital on Saturday and also to Chaparai village.

However, these allegations were brushed aside by Mr. Kumar, who said saying that there are still 16 men , two women and 11 children undergoing treatment in area hospital from Chaparai, and 12 patients came back to Rampachodavaram area hospital on Friday from Kakinada general hospital as their condition is stated to be “stable”.

Vacancies filled

The ITDA on Friday filled vacant paramedical posts in the medical and health department by issuing appointment orders. Mr. Kumar conducted walk-in interviews and gave appointment orders for 16 multipurpose health assistants, 13 pharmacists, 15 staff nurses, three lab technicians and three male nursing ordinary.

He said lack communication system and road connectivity had become obstacles for monitoring health of people in the agency area, and added that steps are being taken to extend the services to tribal habitats. He informed that efforts were on to provide V-Sat and home radio systems in the agency areas. In the wake of announcement of health emergency, he said steps such as cleaning of drainsand garbage removal were being taken.
