2 red sanders smugglers arrested

The Chittoor task force police nabbed two red sanders smugglers on the outskirts of Madanapalle town on Thursday and seized three red sanders and an SUV, both worth about Rs 5 lakhs. The duo were identified as C. Srinivasulu alias Dabba Srinu (33), and Haribabu alias Dudigi (34). Srinivasulu, a X class dropout, had entered the red sanders business in 2004, having smuggled over 400 metric tonnes of red sanders logs so far, besides carrying 50 cases on him in various police stations in Chittoor district. Haribabu has joined Srinivasulu as his associate in recent years, according to police.
