2 Inter students killed in road accident

An hour before they were to appear for the examination of Intermediate first year, two students - Balineni Anil Kumar and Anjaneyulu alias Anji (both 16) - were killed on the spot, when the motorcycle on which they were going was knocked down by a tipper near Mulakalacheruvu mandal headquarters, 40 km from Madanapalle, on Wednesday.

The area police said the duo were on their way to the examination centre at Madanapalle from their village Pathakota in Mulakalacheruvu mandal. Eye-witnesses said over speed of the tipper driver and swerving to the extreme right resulted in the tragedy. The bodies of the students were shifted

to area hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered.

Suicide bid

P. Dhanalakshmi, a second year Intermediate student at Vepada Government Junior College, attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at her home at Vallampudi in Vepada mandal.

She reportedly attempted suicide after principal A. Krishna Mohan, citing poor attendance, declined to issue hall-ticket to her. After first aid at Vepada PHC and later at the community health centre at S. Kota, she was admitted to K.G.H, Visakhapatnam, for better treatment.
