The District Educational Department had adjusted and transferred 162 teachers to the needy government and Zilla Parishad high schools in various parts of the district particularly in the remote areas where there was acute shortage of subject teachers.
Responding to the news item “Demanding teachers, students lock up two tutors” published in these columns on Friday, DEO K Lingaiah had issued orders for the adjustment and transfer of 162 teachers to the needy schools following the directions of Commissioner and Director of School Education to ensure that the instruction in the schools does not suffer due to lack of teachers.
“Some of the teachers were adjusted in the needy schools where the subject teacher is required within the mandal and some of the transferred teachers were also directed to attend to the previous school till the said vacancy is filled up either by direct recruitment or promotion or other teachers join the place”, he said and informed the headmasters to relieve the said teachers.

He also instructed the teachers to join their new postings within two days and warned them of disciplinary action if any deviation was found. It may be recalled that the DEO had posted four teachers to the ZPHS in VV Rao Pet village of Mallapur mandal where the students of the school have locked up two teachers on Thursday.
The authorities have also posted good number of teachers to schools where majority of them have were transferred during the recent counselling programme. The sources also said that they were planning to recruit Vidya Volunteers in the existing vacancies in various schools.
