Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao has remarked that the temple management is going to introduce a series of initiatives for the devotees.
Speaking on sidelines of the Independence Day celebrations here on Monday, Mr. Rao said that they would be providing better amenities for the ‘Divya Darshan’ devotees (those who trek to the hill shrine) by establishing a new complex, earmarked especially for them. “We have already constructed a special complex for the ‘Sheegra Darshan’ devotees. Besides this, the booking of ‘arjita sevas’ have been made online i.e., first Friday of every month, ensuring transparency in the process,” he added.
Mr. Rao also reiterated that they have waived the caution deposit for lockers at the PACs and pilgrim amenities centres along with those for accommodations. With respect to the Vanam Manam programme, a large-scale plantation of saplings was carried out across the hill shrine with an addition of the proposed 100-acre sandalwood plantation. Mr. Rao also said that they have geared up to heighten the devotional elixir and greenery at Tirumala, besides propagating Hindu Dharma through ratha yatras in 106 ‘divya desams’ and conduction of 30 Srinivasa Kalyanams across the country and overseas. He further highlighted on the dharmic, socio-economic and educational achievements of the premier organisation and about the mandate for the people and agenda for the coming years.
