‘Centre will extend all help to State for capital construction’

Union Minister for Environment Prakash Javadekar, who was here as part of ‘Vikas Parv’, said that the Centre, if necessary, would amend laws to help the State government in building of State capital Amaravati.

Addressing a gathering and later the press, along with State Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas, he said that the Telugu Desam had played a key role in ensuring ‘Congress free India’, the slogan of BJP.

Mr. Javadekar said that there were issues with regard to environmental clearances for the forest land to be used for construction of Amaravati. “We will even consider amending laws to help facilitate construction of a world class capital as envisioned by the government of Andhra Pradesh. Further, it is our commitment to fund the capital construction. We stand by it,” said Mr. Javadekar. Coming down heavily on the Congress, the Union Minister blamed it for several scams in the country. “We have to set right everything and then strive for development of the country on all fronts,” he added.

The Centre launched several schemes that benefited each and every family, he said.

He also said that the BJP-led government would bring back the black money from abroad and use the same for development of the country.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Javadekar, who arrived by a special flight to the Puttaparthi airport, paid his respects at the maha samadhi of Sathya Saibaba in Prasanthi Nilayam before proceeding to Anantapur by road.
