The former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, Ajit Pawar, hit out at his detractors, alleging that a deliberate attempt was being made to create an atmosphere of doubt in the State.
Criticising the ‘season of exposes’, Mr. Pawar stated that while the one to allege do not have to show any proof, the ones being alleged suffer the most.
“There is a trend to hold press conferences and not have any valid proof,” he stated, speaking at the State level NCP meet here on Sunday.

Defending the irrigation department’s decision to introduce lift irrigation in select regions in the State, he said 2,000 acres of land had been brought under irrigation. Hitting out at whistleblower Vijay Pandhare, who had written to Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan against the scheme, Mr. Pawar questioned, “Is Mr. Pandhare always right? Are all the ministers wrong?”
