Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani on Saturday offered prayers at the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara.

Speaking to media persons after emerging out of the temple complex, Mr. Advani when asked for his reaction over the controversial remarks reportedly made by eminent jurist Ram Jethmalani on Lord Rama and Laxman, he said, “I have come to the sacred place to pay my obeisance to the presiding deity rather than indulge in criticism or make any political comments.”

However, Mr. Advani who spoke at length regarding his political career spanning over five decades said he had not only scaled towering heights but also experienced several difficult phases. “The fact that I always worked true to my conscience nevertheless has propelled me to what I am today.”
