West-bound flights suspended

Following the volcanic eruption in Iceland, west-bound flights from here continued to remain impacted on Saturday and the effects are expected to spill over to the next two days .

Air India said in a statement that it had suspended all its flights to and from U.S., Canada and Europe on Sunday. Five flights from Delhi, three from Mumbai and one flight from Ahmedabad, bound for various destinations such as Paris, London, New York, Washington, Frankfurt, Toronto, Chicago, Newark and back have been cancelled. The rescheduled flights of April 16 would be operated on a delayed basis as and when the European airspace opened up, the statement said.
