Veteran journalist Inder Malhotra passed away in a Delhi hospital on Saturday. He was 86. He had been on ventilator for some time.
One of the most respected journalists of the country, Mr. Malhotra had worked with The Statesman and The Times of India , New Delhi. He began his career with the United Press of India. He joined it soon after graduating from the Punjab University. He also wrote for The Guardian (1965-95). He is both a Nehru Fellow (1986-87) and a Woodrow Wilson Fellow (1992-93).

Mr. Malhotra is survived by his son, painter Anil Revri. His wife Rekha Malhotra died in 2007.
