Additional District and Sessions court here fixed May 20 for delivering the judgement in the 1990 molestation case, in which Former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore was earlier convicted and sentenced to six months of imprisonment.
The court has been hearing continuous pleas of victim's family and CBI, demanding enhancement of sentence and Rathore's plea challenging the six-month sentence awarded to him by a CBI court for molesting a teenager who later committed suicide. All the three pleas after conclusion of arguments and counter-arguments in the case, victim's family counsel Pankaj Bhardwaj said on Tuesday.
The court heard the arguments, which began on May three, on a day-to-day basis, and media was kept strictly away form the proceedings, which were held in-camera.

Victim's father said that the teenager was harassed and victimised by Rathore and he will move the court to charge Rathore with abetting his daughter's suicide, the maximum punishment for which is 10 years.
“Rathore should have been given a two-year imprisonment. Now we expect that he gets maximum punishment punishment which is possible under this section. He doesn't deserve any leniency, and after this we will file a challan under section 306 for abetment to suicide, so that he is punished for his crimes," he said. The budding tennis player was allegedly molested on August 12, 1990 by Rathore when he was the IG (law and order) Haryana in his office. While Rathore went on to become the state DGP, the girl committed suicide on December 28,1993 after allegedly facing a lot of harassment from Rathore to take back the case.

Rathore was convicted and sentenced by a CBI court on December 21, 2009, and was given a six-month jail term and fined Rs 1,000. But the verdict enraged the public sentiment and three fresh FIRs were registered against him.
