Senior Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharati visited Nagpur on Wednesday and met senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue M.G.Vaidya.

Ms. Uma Bharati who kept herself aloof from the media, reportedly came by train from Bhopal early Wednesday morning and went straight to the residence of Mr. Vaidya.

After visiting Mr. Vaidya’s house, she reportedly visited RSS headquarters and met some senior RSS leaders. She spent about an hour and a half at the RSS headquarters. She then drove to the residence of BJP president Nitin Gadkari. After spending about half an hour at Mr. Gadkari’s resident, she left for Nagpur railway station.

She refused to comment on the recent controversies within the BJP saying “No politics please” and reiterated her support for the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

However Ms. Bharati denied that she visited Nitin Gadkari’s residence and RSS headquarters.“M.G.Vaidya is like my father and I came here to seek his blessings on the eve of ‘Padava’, she told some reporters.

Ms. Bharti’s Nagpur visit has come in the backdrop of the recent controversies within the Sangh Parivar. Mr. Vaidya earlier this week, had blamed Narendra Modi for campaign against Nitin Gadkari.
