The Delhi Police wants to ensure foolproof security to the JNUSU president.

JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar with Rama Naga, one of the co-accused in the sedition case, on the JNU campus in New Delhi, on Friday.

Not willing to take anymore risks after the assault on Kanhaiya Kumar on the Patiala House Court premises, the Delhi Police have written to the JNU authorities, asking them to keep them informed about the JNUSU president’s movements.

The varsity authorities have been instructed to keep the police updated even about the “nature of visit and travel mode” so that the necessary security arrangements and preventive measures could be taken to prevent any “untoward incident”. The police have turned overtly cautious ever since the court ordered that they must ensure that the students accused of sedition must not suffer even a scratch.
