Three IS sympathisers remanded in police custody

A Delhi court on Saturday remanded three alleged IS sympathisers, who were deported from the UAE on Friday, to 10 days police custody.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) alleged that — Adnan Hussain, Mohammad Farhan and Sheikh Azhar Al Islam, hailing from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir respectively, were allegedly on a mission to carry out terror attacks in India and some other countries.

Earlier, the NIA produced the accused before the court. The agency had arrested them on Friday.

Seeking their police custody, the NIA said that they were required to be interrogated to unearth the entire conspiracy to carry out terror strikes.

It was alleged that the three suspects, along with other unknown associates, were allegedly involved in a conspiracy to identify, motivate, radicalise, recruit and train Indian citizens, located in India and abroad, for planning and executing terror attacks in India and other countries.
