One of the eight Indian ships hijacked by Somali pirates more than a week ago has been released.

According to Adam Bhayya, the secretary of the Vahanbatta Association of Gujarat, the ship MSV Krishnajyot, registered in Mandvi in Kutch district, was released by the hijackers on Saturday.

The 500-tonner was hijacked with 15 Indian crews on March 28 when it was on its way from Dubai to Mogadishu, capital of Somalia, with general cargo.
