Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal will launch the party’s campaign for the Lok Sabha elections with a rally at Rohtak in Haryana on February 23.
The AAP, preparing to field candidates for 323 Lok Sabha seats in 24 States, intends to challenge big names in every party including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi of the Congress and the BJP’s Narendra Modi.
The second rally will be held in Uttar Pradesh on March 2, political affairs committee member Yogendra Yadav said here on Saturday.

The party’s election preparations in Haryana, Delhi, Maharashtra and Punjab were ahead of its work in other States. Even in parts of Uttar Pradesh bordering Delhi, substantial progress had been made in finding volunteers and setting up committees, he said.

In Bihar, the party appointed the former Minister Parveen Amanullah as its spokesperson. Ms. Amanullah, who joined the AAP recently, on Saturday met Mr. Kejriwal and discussed the strategy for the State. She was asked to help identify “good and honest candidates.”

Yatras in 323 constituencies
The party also announced the launch of its Jhado Chalao Yatra.
In the 323 constituencies the party is in the fray, “2,500 yatras will be organised in 10 days from Saturday. We would expose the Congress and the BJP for defending corrupt persons. The party will also take new members in this campaign,” said its leader Gopal Rai.
The party will hold the highest number of yatras, 461, in Uttar Pradesh, followed by 450 in Haryana, over 300 in Maharashtra, 270 in Bihar and 174 in Punjab.
These are the States where the AAP is aiming to challenge the Congress and the BJP in a big way.
