President Patil condoles loss of lives in train derailment

President Pratibha Patil on expressed grief over the loss of lives in the train derailment in West Bengal that killed at least 20 people.

Ms. Patil, who is in Beijing on a state visit, sent her condolences to the families of the deceased.

At least 20 passengers were killed and 150 injured when suspected Maoists blasted rail tracks in West Midnapore district early Friday derailing 13 coaches of a Mumbai-bound express train which rammed into three bogies of a goods train.
