To strengthen the prosecution’s case in the trial of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Sayyed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal, the Mumbai police are trying to secure the deposition of David Headley, an American-born terrorist serving a prison term in the U.S., through videoconference.
While Jundal was named by Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving gunman, as one of the main conspirators in the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, Jundal himself reportedly admitted that he had met Headley, a fellow LeT operative, while hatching the conspiracy. Jundal is now lodged in the Arthur Road Jail here. It is learnt that the proposal came up after Mumbai police officers met officials of the PMO and the Ministry of External Affairs.
In its charge sheet filed against Jundal in 2012, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch said he was one of the six 26/11 handlers and taught Hindi to the 10 terrorists who took a boat from Pakistan to Mumbai to execute the attacks that claimed 166 lives.

Headley is serving a 35-year term for his role in the Mumbai attacks and Denmark terror cases.
