Najma Heptullah sworn in as Manipur Governor

Dr. Najma A. Heptullah was sworn in as the 18th Governor of Manipur on Sunday. The acting Chief Justice of High Court of Manipur, Rakesh Ranjan Prasad, administered the oath of office and secrecy in a simple function at the Raj Bhavan’s Darbar Hall.

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, ministerial colleagues, top ranking police and civil officials were present at the function. Dr. Heptullah arrived in Imphal on Saturday. Dr. Heptullah, earlier, held the position of Deputy Chairperson of Rajya Sabha twice and also was the Minister of State for Minority Affairs.
