Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday indicated that his government would not only work towards bringing back the black money stashed away in foreign banks, but also take measures to prevent further flow of black money to other countries.

“We need to not only bring back whatever has gone away, but also make arrangements to ensure that no one dares to take away fresh black money abroad. I want to assure the people of the country that we will initiate the necessary measures,” Mr. Modi said, while addressing a public meeting in Bengaluru.

He said that his government would fulfil the aspirations of people who wanted tough measures against corruption.

False propaganda
He said the Opposition carried out a false propaganda against his government and questioned its commitment to the pre-poll promise of bringing back black money. But they could not suppress the truth, he said while pointing out that a Special Investigation Team had been formed to look into the issue and that the team had been regularly filing reports before the Supreme Court.

He said those ridiculing the government had to keep quiet after the Finance Minister introduced a Bill in Parliament to curb black money, he said.
