Modi greets Jayalalithaa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Jayalalithaa on her taking oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Jayalalithaa on her taking oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

“PM @narendramodi congratulates Jayalalithaa ji on taking oath as CM of Tamil Nadu and conveys his best wishes to her & her team,” said a post on the PMO Twitter.

Ms. Jayalalithaa, AIADMK supremo, was sworn in as Chief Minister about eight months after she was forced to quit over corruption charges.

Twenty eight ministers were also sworn in at the ceremony.

Earlier, Mr. Modi congratulated Ms. Jayalalithaa soon after she was acquitted by the Karnataka High Court in the disproportionate assets case.
