BJP officials said on Saturday that the final text of the common minimum programme (CMP) for its proposed alliance government with the Peoples Democratic Party in Kashmir was being discussed in Jammu. The document would also go to the party’s top leadership and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the PDP side, Haseeb Drabu flew back from Delhi to speak to its leaders Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti, who have been in consultations with senior party leaders like Muzaffar Hussain Baig and Naeem Akhtar.

“We have not accepted their demand for removal of the AFSPA in a year’s time and have, in fact, taken it out of a time frame into a situational frame. Neither have we called Article 370 inviolable,” a senior BJP leader said.
“As for the WPRs [West Pakistan Refugees], their rehabilitation will in the end be determined according to the legality and the Constitution, but the PDP has agreed that it should be seen from a humanitarian angle,” the leader said.
Criticising the PDP for what he called “grandstanding,” former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted: “The PDP-BJP tie up was a done deal ages ago, all this was just Mufti Syed’s grand-standing as a tough guy.”
