Modi radio broadcast: EC gives him a clean chit

The EC said it "did not find anything in the broadcast matter which constituted violation of Model Code of Conduct."

The Election Commission said on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio broadcast on October 3 had not violated the Model Code of Conduct.

Responding to a complaint filed by the Congress’s Legal Cell Secretary K C Mittal, the EC said it “did not find anything in the broadcast matter which constituted violation of Model Code of Conduct.”

The Model Code came into force on September 12 for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana, slated for October 15.
