Top Maoist leader Kishenji has expressed disappointment with the August 9 rally at Lalgarh addressed by Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, which he and the People's Committee against Police Atrocities (PCPA) supported.
Kishenji said the rally was held for “petty political gain” by the Trinamool Congress.
“Despite utterances by leaders against terrorisation by the CPI(M) at the rally, Mamata and her party hijacked it for petty political gain to pave the way for her and her party to wean the people away from Maoists and the PCPA; it was much less a peace initiative,” Kishenji said in an open letter dated August 28.

Kishenji said none of the speakers at the rally raised the “diabolical murder” by the security forces of PCPA president Lalmohan Tudu.

The committee should also investigate the “atrocities” allegedly committed by the joint forces and the CPI(M) workers.
