Maharashtra Assembly’s first session starts tomorrow

The Maharashtra Government on Sunday said that the first Assembly session would be held here from Monday.

The session of the 12th State Assembly would be a three-day affair in which all 287 members of the 288-member House would be administered oath and a new Speaker elected, an official from CMO said after the maiden Cabinet meeting.

The Speaker will continue to be from NCP, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had said on Saturday, adding, the party will request the Governor to appoint senior MLA Ganpatrao Deshmukh as pro-tem Speaker.
