November 26, 2009 08:45 pm | Updated 08:45 pm IST - New Delhi

Rajya Sabha will have a discussion on the Liberhan Commission report on December seven, a day after the 17th anniversary of the demolition of the Babri Masjid.

The discussion was earlier scheduled on December two, but it has now been postponed to December seven. The discussion in Lok Sabha will be on December one.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to field a battery of leaders in Parliament to discuss the report in which even L. K. Advani may participate.

But it is still unclear whom Congress would line up and whether Rahul Gandhi would lead the ruling side in the attack on BJP and the Sangh Parivar on the issue.

For BJP, its president Rajnath Singh will open the debate in the Lower House, while Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley will take up the task in the Upper House.

Asked whether Gandhi would participate in the discussions, a senior party leader said these were still early days and the party has not yet finalised its speakers in the debate. “We will, however, not be found wanting on this score,” he said.
