Kejriwal seeks BJP apology for 'killing' Anna Hazare in its ad

January 30, 2015 03:57 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 05:19 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Nathuram Godse killed Gandhiji on this day in 1948. BJP has killed Anna Hazare in its advertisement today. Shoulddn't the BJP apologise?, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal asked.

A newspaper advertisement put up by the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday targeting the Aam Aadmi Party and its convener Arvind Kejriwal seems to have backfired.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on Friday demanding that the BJP apologize for its portrayal of social activist and his former mentor during the India Against Corruption movement, Anna Hazare.

While the cartoon in the newspaper advertisement mocks at Mr. Kejriwal for falsely swearing on his children that he would never join hands with the Congress party, what sparked the anger of the AAP leader specifically, besides several others on the social media, is that the BJP showed a garlanded portrait of Anna Hazare in the cartoon.

"Nathuram Godse killed Gandhiji on this day in 1948. BJP has killed Anna in its ad today. Shudn't BJP apologise?" Kejriwal tweeted.
