The proceedings in both Houses of Parliament were disrupted on Wednesday by the Opposition, which demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into alleged “corruption and scams” in the Commonwealth Games, allocation of 2G spectrum, and the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society.
As soon as the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha met, Opposition members led by the Bharatiya Janata Party demanded the setting up of a JPC to look into the alleged scandals and the removal of Telecom Minister A. Raja for his alleged role in the 2G spectrum allocation.
They did not allow the Question Hour to go on and trooped into the well raising slogans, leading to adjournment till noon. When the Houses reassembled, the Opposition members again raised the issue, leading to the adjournment of the Houses for the day.

In the Rajya Sabha, Leader of the Opposition Arun Jaitley said there had been an “unprecedented rise in cases of corruption in high places.” He referred to the alleged scam in the allocation of 2G spectrum to new telecom companies, reports of corruption in the Commonwealth Games, and irregularities in the Adarsh Society in Mumbai. “The government, instead of dealing with the issues, has belittled them as inner party issues,” he said.
Questioning Mr. Raja's role in the spectrum scam, AIADMK leader V. Maitreyan displayed a copy of the Comptroller and Auditor-General report on the 2G spectrum allocation.
As the Opposition benches shouted slogans, Chairman Hamid Ansari adjourned the House till noon. Similar scenes followed when it reassembled at noon, forcing its adjournment for the day.

In the Lok Sabha, BJP members stalled the proceedings by storming the well. AIADMK members demanded the removal of Mr. Raja and criticised the government for its role in the alleged scams. After question hour was disrupted, the House was adjourned till noon and later for the day.
