Don’t interfere in varsity’s internal affairs, JNU VC tells political parties

The university can deal with its issues internally, says M. Jagadesh Kumar.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University Vice Chancellor M. Jagadesh Kumar has issued an appeal to all the political parties asking them not to interfere in the varsity’s internal matter.

“I appeal to all political parties not to interfere in our matter. The university can deal with its issues internally,” Mr. Kumar told the media on Wednesday.

>s on Monday. “I was informed about the attack from JNU teachers association. The university administration out rightly condemns the attack,” he added.

On being asked about the library website hacking issue, he said that the matter is being investigated.

About the internal committee report on the February 9 incident, the Vice Chancellor said that the final report will be submitted on February 25. As per the interim report, eight students of the university have been debarred from academic activities. The students however have been allowed to stay in the hostel as guest.

The Vice Chancellor also added that classes have resumed in the university.
