Indian wins silver in skills Olympics

N. Priyadarshan of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu has won the silver medal along with a contestant from Japan, in the mould-making category, at the world skills competition at Calgary in Canada. The gold went to Korea.

Mr. Priyadarshan and S. Siddharaju from Bangalore represented India and the latter participated in the information technology software application category. The event, known as World Skills Olympics, is being attended by 900 competitors from 51 countries participating in 45 skills categories such as manufacturing mechatronics, polymechanics automation, welding, plumbing, electronics, and carpentry.
