INS Betwa deployed in Gulf of Aden

The Navy has deployed INS Betwa with an armed helicopter and marine commando team for anti-piracy patrol in the Gulf of Aden.

INS Betwa, 16 th Indian Navy ship deployed in the area since October 2008, has replaced INS Beas. Warships of several other countries are also deployed in the Gulf of Aden. On average, 16-18 warships are there at any given time.
