The second round of talks between a Gujjar delegation and the Rajasthan government over the issue of reservation in government jobs ended on Saturday evening on a positive note.
A 14-member delegation led by Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla held talks with State Ministers Shanti Dhariwal, Jitendra Singh and Brijkishore Sharma at the Secretariat here.
“Bainsla will now hold a meeting with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and after that, the final decision will be taken about our further move — to withdraw or not to withdraw the sit-in and agitation,” Roop Singh, one of the delegates, told reporters.

Energy Minister Jitendra Singh said the talks were positive and a final decision on the reservation issue will be taken at the Chief Minister’s level.
The first round of talks was held on Friday evening after which Mr. Bainsla arrived in Jaipur to hold the next round.
The Gehlot government had invited Gujjar leaders for talks, which was accepted by Mr. Bainsla but he did not come forward for talks and stayed with the protesters at Gazipur in Dausa.

The Gujjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti agitation spearheaded by Mr. Bainsla is seeking 5 per cent reservation in government jobs.
Earlier, Mr. Bainsla postponed the proposed march to Jaipur to press for a quota in government jobs and decided to send a delegation for talks to resolve the issue.
